Background

  1. Context

Simplifying school management through one connected platform

JuneShift is a SaaS platform designed to bring essential school and education-management workflows into one connected experience.

The platform brings together areas such as admissions, students, courses, fees, communication, and administrative operations, helping schools manage their everyday processes from one place.

The challenge was to make a complex system feel simple enough for daily use while keeping the flexibility required by different school workflows and roles.

  1. The problem

School management involves too many disconnected workflows.

Administrative teams often work across different processes for admissions, students, courses, fees, communication, and day-to-day operations.

When these workflows are disconnected, simple tasks can require multiple steps and make it harder for administrators to understand the current state of their data.

JuneShift needed a unified experience that could bring these workflows together without overwhelming users.

Key challenges:

  • Multiple school workflows needed to live within one platform.

  • Large amounts of student and administrative data needed to remain easy to scan.

  • Admissions and student management required clear, structured flows.

  • Different modules needed a consistent interaction pattern.

  • The platform needed to support different administrative roles.

  • The design needed to scale as more modules and features were introduced.

  1. My role

Result

  1. What we did

Creating one consistent experience across school operations.

We mapped important administrative workflows and designed interfaces that make information easier to understand, actions easier to discover, and everyday tasks easier to complete.

The focus was on creating a modular system that could work across different parts of the platform while maintaining a familiar experience.

Key deliverables:

✓ School administration dashboard
✓ Admission management flow
✓ Student management
✓ Course management
✓ Fees and payment workflows
✓ Data tables and filtering
✓ Forms and validation states
✓ Alerts and confirmation patterns
✓ Navigation and sidebar system
✓ Reusable UI components
✓ Scalable design system

  1. Key design decisions

01 — One platform, one consistent experience.

JuneShift contains many different modules, but each module should still feel like part of the same product.

A consistent visual language and interaction system helped users move between workflows without having to learn a new interface each time.

02 — Make complex data easier to scan.

Administrative systems contain large amounts of structured information.

Tables, cards, spacing, typography, filters, and status indicators were designed to create clearer visual hierarchy and help users quickly find relevant information.

03 — Actions should be predictable.

Common administrative tasks such as adding students, managing admissions, editing records, and updating information should follow familiar patterns.

Reusable interaction patterns helped make these actions more predictable across the platform.

04 — Design around real workflows.

Instead of treating every screen as an isolated UI problem, the experience was designed around complete workflows.

This helped connect related actions and information so users could complete tasks with fewer unnecessary transitions.

05 — Build for future modules.

JuneShift is designed as a growing platform, so scalability was an important part of the design approach.

Reusable components and patterns make it easier to introduce new workflows without creating visual or interaction inconsistencies.

  1. Outcome

A more connected experience for everyday school operations.

JuneShift brings multiple administrative workflows into one structured SaaS experience, making it easier for school teams to manage information and complete everyday tasks.

The result is a scalable product foundation designed around consistency, clarity, and real-world administrative workflows.

The impact:

Multiple modules
Connected through one experience

Complex data
Structured for faster scanning

Reusable components
Consistent UI across the platform

Scalable system
Ready for new workflows and features
